Baptism

Baptism is a Christian sacrament and ritual of initiation, signifying spiritual cleansing and rebirth. It involves the use of water to symbolize the washing away of sin and the individual's entry into the Christian community. Traditionally, baptism is performed by immersing the person in water or by pouring or sprinkling water on their head. It is often accompanied by the recitation of specific prayers and the invocation of the Holy Trinity. Baptism serves as a public declaration of faith, marking the believer's commitment to follow Jesus Christ and live according to Christian teachings. In many denominations, it is considered a prerequisite for receiving other sacraments and participating fully in the life of the Church.
